The inspiration for my colorful pieces comes from emotion felt through music, human form, injustices and people I meet. I hope to inspire change, living in harmony and respect for one another. My intuitive process uses color and movement to capture the viewer. Mostly self-taught, I believe God gave me my talent, but also I have been mentored by other successful Haitian artists. I custom mix most of my acrylic colors to create the desired depth and vibrant synergy within each piece. In my work I break up objects with refraction lines allowing the dispersion of light. I would categorize my work as eclectic with a bit of surrealistic cubism. Primarily I want my pieces to evoke a feeling and stay immortal in the memory of patrons, which is evident in the uniqueness of my technique.

About CrewlArt by Gregory Frederic
Since being born in Haiti, Frederic uses color to chronicle every single day. He was mentored by successful Haitian artists to start his career painting still life subject matter in oil paint. He began working as a muralist for the World Health Organization and sold commissioned paintings. Two years later he changed medium and started developing his own special techniques. Acrylic became his best friend, canvases were his siblings and tiny brushes were like his kids. At his first solo exhibition in Haiti, he sold 14 original paintings.
Frederic’s strong will to succeed and determination comes from being the first born in a family of six. His parents run a tailor business, so they also have the artistic eye to create art from fabric. Many pieces of their clothing became the backdrop for his custom painted clothes. He sold them to American mission teams, for which he was a private security guard. He immigrated to Green Bay in 2013, where he and his Wisconsinite wife, Amy, juggle raising their family while managing his art business.
He can now be called an award winner, guest speaker, live painter, mentor and muralist hired by many organizations, including The Green Bay Packers. His unique masterpieces can be seen at Appleton’s Public Library, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Austin Straubel Airport and at many fine art galleries. He is a member of the Wisconsin Alliance of Artists & Craftspeople, National Association of Independent Artists, Wisconsin Craft, The Art-Hop Collective, United Arts, Mosaic Arts Inc. and a former board member of The Artgarage in Green Bay. He teaches various art classes to aspiring artists with disabilities as an instructor for ARTS For ALL Wisconsin and often teaches from his own studio in Green Bay. Frederic continues to create unique paintings to add to his list of satisfied collectors worldwide.
