Individual Artist

Ellen Rosewall/Sheep Shape Creations

“When you make art, your soul connects with the earth and with other beings, past, present and future. You hold wool in your hands, which is the gift of some sheep, the grass she eats and the air she breathes. You take stitches in the same way your ancestors have been stitching for thousands of years: making clothes for their families and beautiful objects for their homes, churches and communities. You organize your painting in the same way a bird builds its nest. You gaze upon a sculpture which was made 500 years ago and realize that you understand what the artist was thinking. You open your eyes to new ways of being. You change yourself, and you change the world.” — Ellen Rosewall
